This book was recommended to support my work with students, and I have been using it; they actually love it. The way the author develops Mrs. No No’s character is great; my students now remember her and even recognize her expressions as reminders when they do something not that good. The illustrations are fantastic, the text is short on each page, and it’s an easy read that students truly enjoy. Now that i am an aunt, I’m so obsessed with books that can give me the tools to help my sister and my niece to have a loving and special growth, that is why i found this incredible book that is amazing to help a little kid to develop his character and self esteem. Even Though the book’s description said that it can really help kids with autism, I think this book is perfect for every kid because it has a way to connect with them and their feeling is pretty unique in this kind of reading. For me, it was so helpful and that’s why I keep recommending it to all my friends and colleagues that are going through this stage.

I liked Mrs. No No because she isn’t an authoritarian figure, but rather a tender and respectful presence that invites children to reflect on their behavior. The most beautiful thing about this book is that it works both in the classroom and at home. I’ve used it with my nephews in everyday situations, and surprisingly, it makes them react positively, without any drama. It’s as if it has that magic touch that raises awareness without inducing guilt. Mrs. No No’s Storybook isn’t just a story: it’s a powerful tool for teaching with love, empathy, and consistency. Mrs. No No’s Storybook by Susan W. Owens is an interesting storybook that aims to help children with positive behaviours. The character Mrs. No No guides the children’s behaviour and while I was sceptical at first, the book does a good job of presenting her as a warm and loving character. With gentle guidance, she helps children make positive choices without being judgemental or too prescriptive. I would have liked Mrs. No No to have a more positive name. The book could also address potential underlying issues for unwelcome behaviours, but on the whole, it is a useful teaching tool. I am giving this original educational storybook four out of five stars.

Family and school are the first mediators, along with the social context, to initiate children’s contact with children’s literature.
As we know, this exposure should be approached in a playful way, as an activity that provides entertainment and pleasure, which is why I believe Mrs. No No’s Storybook is perfect for both girls and boys.
The approach presented by author Owen is very successful, as children will imitate Mrs. No No and thus be able to prevent meltdowns. Another thing I liked most were the illustrations. They are in a traditional style, with calm colors, ideal for children with autism. I recommend this book to all educators and families with young children.
